BORIS SPIVAK, BIOGRAPHY

Boris Spivak was born in the former Soviet Union and grew up in the city of Lvov - the cultural center of the Ukraine. From his childhood he was steeped in the traditions of fine arts this area enjoyed, he dreamed of going to the Ivan Fedorov College of Printing, named after the father of the Russian printing process. He received education and training at this fine institution and advanced study from the Studio of Fine Arts and Graphic Design in Lvov and the Atelier for Industrial Arts and Graphic Design in Kharkov, USSR. On November 1980, Boris and his family immigrated to the USA. Today Boris is a master sculptor whose works are influenced by his historical heritage and inspired by his love of freedom that he found in his new country. His creations exhibit both architectural strength and psychological depth. They integrate artistic composition with his view of truth and aesthetic harmony.

Boris has received recognition from the artistic community as a talented artist and experienced art instructor. He currently teaches art at The Frye Art Museum, Seattle Academy of Fine Arts and Mizirkin Fine Arts, Inc.

Boris believes that to be an artist is a privelege and a responsibility given to one by God." and that like architecture, sculpture is intended to be a permanent living history of a people's culture, and a memorial to their era and their society."
